How we rank online blackjack casinos

We review each casino through seven weighted factors. The current home page follows the order supplied for this update and does not publish numeric scores. This page shows the standards we use to organize the comparison.

The seven factors and their weights

Weights total 100 and show our editorial priorities. They are not presented as operator scores on the current ranking.

Factor Weight What we look at
Table rules 25 Payout on a natural, dealer action on soft 17, double and split permissions, deck count
Bonus terms 20 Blackjack contribution rate, wagering multiplier, expiry, maximum bet while a bonus is active
Payments 15 Methods available to US players, stated processing windows, minimum cashout, fees
Bet limits 12 Lowest and highest stake on standard tables, and whether rules hold across the range
Table choice 12 Variant count, live dealer hours, seat availability, whether rules are published on the table
Usability 10 Load speed, clarity of chip and action controls on a phone, access to hand history
Support and clarity 6 Contact channels, published hours, how plainly terms and state restrictions are written

What each factor means in practice

The method cards below explain what we examine within each factor.

Table rules

We prefer a 3:2 payout on a natural over 6:5. We also check the soft 17 rule, double after split, re-split permissions, surrender, and deck count.

Bonus terms

We read the bonus value, wagering multiplier, blackjack contribution, expiry, maximum bet, and excluded games together. An unclear term counts against the offer.

Payments

We examine payment methods, stated withdrawal review windows, minimum cashout amounts, and transaction fees. A published term is more useful than a vague promise.

Bet limits

We note the lowest stake, the ceiling, and whether the rule set changes across limits. A wider range can serve more bankroll sizes.

Table choice

Credit goes to a genuine spread of variants rather than the same game relabelled. Live dealer coverage across the day counts, and so does publishing the rule set on the table instead of inside a help file.

Usability

We look at how quickly a table opens, whether chip values and hit or stand controls are easy to tap on a phone, and whether hand history is available after a session so you can review your own play.

Rules we hold ourselves to

  • Commercial agreements do not change the supplied ranking order or our factual standards.
  • We do not publish a licence claim, a regulator approval or a payout result unless we can point to the source of it.
  • We do not describe a site as tested unless a named editor has actually used it and recorded what happened.
  • Offer values change often. We omit a figure or label it for a current terms check when a stable public source does not support it.
  • If a site changes a rule that matters, we revise the comparison and source notes.

Who reviews the comparison

Editorial review is handled by Mark Winter, Online Casino Reviewer. Mark checks the factor list and the public sources used for each update. Questions about the method can go through our contact page.

What this method does not cover

We do not use marketing, app-store ratings, social media presence, or total slot count as substitutes for blackjack information.
